Roberta Rousos

I paint portraits of people I meet in my daily life who have a glowing sense about them. They support my exploration of the beauty in the world. These pieces are meant to slow you down and draw you in. The subjects typically look directly at the viewer, inviting them into an intimate connection. Look into their eyes just as they are looking into yours. They ask “what do you feel?” They offer to share their inner joy and beauty with you. Art is an integration of texture and color, material and style. I choose to reflect life’s design through the use of mixed media. Each portrait includes multiple layers of watercolor, acrylic, collage and recently fiber to provide depth and richness embodying our varied life experiences. Art is not truly alive until it has connected with the viewer. It’s a beautiful collaboration.
