Stelios Kleanthous
The sea is the central focus of my work—a timeless presence that embodies both serenity and power. My seascapes explore this duality, capturing the fleeting transitions of light, horizon, and movement to reveal the ocean as more than a landscape: it is a space of reflection, memory, and renewal. Photographing along the Mediterranean coasts of Cyprus, I approach the sea as both subject and metaphor. Its vastness speaks of freedom and possibility, while its depths evoke solitude and the unknown. Through long exposures and minimalist compositions, I seek to transform its constant motion into stillness, offering moments of calm and contemplation. My intention is not to document but to interpret—to create images that invite viewers to pause and reconnect with the elemental rhythm of water. Each seascape becomes a meditation, a quiet reminder of beauty, fragility, and our shared connection to nature’s infinite cycle.
