Marina Susanne Hahn
Through my art, I aim to spark awareness, curiosity, and self-reflection in the viewer. Depending on the topic, I seek to evoke empathy, motivation, or even a sense of hope. My goal is to create works that resonate with my values, engage the audience, and invite them to explore different perspectives. Some of my pieces are designed to entertain with humor, others to offer moments of stillness and reflection—a chance to pause and recharge. Above all, I strive to craft beauty with meaning. My art is deeply rooted in my life experiences: a lifelong fascination with art, early inspiration from my grandfather’s creative endeavors, an enriching education, extensive travels, and a profound appreciation for cultural diversity. These experiences, alongside my love for people, animals, and nature, inform my artistic vision and creative process. Art, to me, is as essential as oxygen. It is an obsession, a driving force, a connector, and a transformative power. It is both a return to my roots and a constant evolution. Influences range from formative encounters with an exceptional art teacher during my teenage years to the works of renowned artists like da Vinci, Bonnard, Matisse, Chagall, Picasso, Dali, Hopper, Twombly, Mondrian, Miro, Richter, Kiefer, af Klint, Frankenthaler, Walker, Emin, … Museum visits and critical perspectives from art critics such as Roberta Smith and Jerry Saltz have further shaped my outlook. While I acknowledge these influences, I strive to stay away from replicative thinking, challenging myself to forge a distinct path. Augst, 13th 2025
