Maria Kruschewsky

My work is rooted in the exploration of material, memory, and gesture. With a background in fine arts and over two decades of international exhibitions, I focus on techniques such as monotype, metal engraving, painting, and sculpture to construct visual dialogues that bridge intuition and structure. Each piece I create reflects a process of layering — whether through ink on paper, carved metal plates, or pigment on canvas — where marks and textures act as echoes of both internal and external landscapes. Printmaking, particularly, offers a space for experimentation that embraces imperfection and spontaneity, resulting in unique works that cannot be replicated. I’m drawn to the quiet tension between abstraction and presence. My compositions often favor spatial rhythm, contrast, and organic forms that invite the viewer into a contemplative encounter. I see the act of creation as both deliberate and instinctive — a balance between mastery of technique and openness to the unexpected. Having exhibited in more than 20 countries, including institutions such as the Louvre Art Fair (Paris), the Biennial of Portugal, and the Japan International Printmaking Exhibition, I view art as a global language — one that transcends borders while remaining deeply personal. Now based in Florida, I continue to develop works that dialogue with diverse cultures and geographies, always seeking to express the subtle imprints of time, memory, and transformation.
